BYOB stands for ... Bake Your Own Bread. You really can do it! You will save money, feel a deep sense of satisfaction, gain nutritional benefits, and most importantly (according to Peter) you will make your home smell like Home. How can you argue with that. BYOB is a roundup that gives everyone a way to show their work, find inspiration, and cheer others on in their homemade bread baking accomplishments.
This whole sharing of your Bake Your Own Bread efforts was started back in 2009 by Sandy of At the Baker's Bench. She got fed up with high priced artisan loaves and was inspired through a cookbook and a class to attempt to make all her own baked goods for one year for her family. How cool is that? After hosting BYOB for a year and a half Sandy then passed the torch to Cathy of Bread Experience where BYOB was supported. Then in January of 2012 Heather of Girlichef took over BYOB duties. When Heather put out the call for other BYOB members who might want to also be a part of all of this I was quick to raise my hand and shout out "Pick me, pick me!".
She picked me! Woot! She also picked the talented Connie of My Discovery of Bread. Neat! Now it's your turn. How do you get involved? You link up your bread post once from any of our blogs and it will be shown across all 3. Triple exposure just by one link of your great work.
Make some bread, talk about bread or use bread as a main ingredient in your recipe. There are 4 different ways to think about what fits for you:
Come back here and add your link! It really is that easy. Anytime throughout the month you can share as many qualifying posts as you would like. Just add your link using this format, Blog Name - Name of Bread, and make sure your post includes a link back to here. If your link is from the BYOB - Featured Bread Blog of the month use this format, Blog Name - *Name of Bread. This will get you a second listing of your link as well!
All of your great submitted posts are shared across all 3 of the blogs for Girlichef, My Discovery of Bread, and here at Delectable Musings, on the Pinterest BYOB-Bake Your Own Bread board, along with being tweeted on Twitter using hashtag #BakeYourOwnBread. You only need to post once to the list from any of our blogs to make all of this happen. How easy is that?
You can find a link to the current month's roundup/linky post in my sidebar or at the bottom of this page. If you have any questions at all please leave a comment and I will be glad to help.

Make some bread, talk about bread or use bread as a main ingredient in your recipe. There are 4 different ways to think about what fits for you:
- Yeast breads made with yeast in cake, dry, or instant form or wild/sourdough. Sweet, savory, loaves, buns, rolls, filled or topped, just to name a few.
- Breads without yeast like quick breads, flat breads, biscuits, scones, crackers, bread sticks, and tortillas.
- Using or teaching about breads in bread baking tutorials, book or cookbook reviews that are about bread, or bread based recipes like bread puddings, sandwiches, pita pockets, pizzas and so many more.
- Pick a recipe from the BYOB - Featured Bread Blog of the month and post about it. Give proper credit to the original recipe maker and when you post, add a * before the name of the bread and you will get a second listing of your post as well! So if you are a new baker needing some pointers, an experienced baker who needs some inspiration, look for the BYOB - Featured Bread Blog each month for help or inspiration.
